To refresh and refine the knowledge on the approach for future replication to other target industries, the MTIT conducted Orientation on Industry Clustering/ Value Chain Approach to the technical personnel from Industry Development and Investment Promotion (IDIP) Division of the ministry, other line-agencies, Non-Government/Civil Society Organizations, Chamber of Commerce and Industries and Academe that are members of the Technical Working Group (TWG) of Industry Clusters.

The activity was held last August 14-19, 2021 in a blended approach using Zoom application. Provincial offices provided venues with stable and strong internet connection to ensure that activity was conducted smoothly. The activity was jointly managed by the MTIT and JICA Capacity Development Project for the Bangsamoro (CDPB).

The OIC-Division Chief of IDIP in Bureau of Trade and Industry, Ms. Amina Karon-Mendez said that the orientation on the principles and tools in Industry Clustering Model is one of the most crucial understandings that an Industry Cluster Facilitator should be subjected to. “With the transition of the new IDIP personnel of MTIT, it is imperative that newly appointed personnel be capacitated on the industry clustering model to adequately carry-out their role and responsibilities as Industry Cluster Facilitators”, she added.
